Secretary - Bill FisherBill Fisher was born close to Kenley just before the start of the Battle of Britain and grew up to see films like Reach for the Sky being filmed from there. Croydon was his nearest civil airfield, so the rows of Tiger Moths awaiting conversion and aircraft being worked on by Film Aviation were part of his formative years an were the days when the Tiger Club were at Redhill.

On leaving school he went initially into insurance as a Lloyd's Broker before spend a period on the ground with a company involved in crop spraying. During this period his interest in old aircraft grew, obtaining the Corsair KD 431 from Cranfield in 1963 and forming the Historic Aircraft Preservation Society - subsequently doing Lancaster air shows before the BBMF obtained PA 474.

After leaving the crop spaying business he got his only proper job, working for 19 years at Lloyd's Aviation Department as an adjuster. In his spare time he formed F. and H. (Aircraft) Ltd., with Arthur Heath who had been the engineer responsible for returning NX611/G-ASXX to flying condition. F&H bought over 50 ex-RAF Chipmunks for resale, as well as types such as the Auster 9 Varsity and Britannia, being responsible for obtaining the first Military and Vintage Permit for the Auster 9 and also the Nord 3202.

Since leaving Lloyd's in 1990, after the death of his original partner, Bill has run F&H on a full time basis, taking the opportunity in his spare time to write various magazine articles and two books about the Chipmunk. He obtained a PPL in 1991 and flies a Piper Super Pacer based at Leicester.

Apart from messing about with aeroplanes his other interest is aircraft photography (the Pacer was bought to enable him to do air-to-air), old motor cars and pottering around in his greenhouse.
